Animation Alliance Australia Inc | ASIFA Australia will present 16 of the best animated short films from this year’s International Animation Day on Wednesday 8th November at the Event Cinemas Myer Centre.
International Animation Day is celebrated on a worldwide scale since launched by ASIFA in 2002. Officially recognised on the 28 October, International Animation Day commemorates the first public performance of Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique at the Grevin Museum in Paris in 1892. Anticipated each year is the screening program. Culturally diverse, it is formed from a collection of animation programs exclusively exchanged amongst ASIFA chapters worldwide. This ‘Best Of’ program showcases the animated shorts from six countries: Australia, China, Greece, Italy, Mexico, and USA.
