Holy Prince Adam! The long-awaited five-episode “Part 1” of Mattel TV and Netflix’s action-packed new 2D animated series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, drops Friday, July 23. Part 1 also gets its own after-show special, The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow, also streaming July 23. Yes, you read this right!
It’s been almost 40 years since we got our first taste of Mattel’s epic tale of warrior goddesses, savage henchmen, cosmic enforcers, lords of destruction, allies and enemies, all centered around a heroic barbarian with a magic sword, trying to do right. Helmed by filmmaker, pop culture maven, and series’ showrunner/EP Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy), Masters of the Universe: Revelation is just what the world needs to reignite people’s passion for holding up sharp objects and proclaiming, “By the power of Grayskull!’ Take that, bag of potato chips I’m struggling to open!”
In Part 1, after a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. After decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.
Bare your steel and enjoy!
Part 1 also includes a talk show and celebration of all things “Masters of the Universe,” The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow, hosted by the keepers of the secrets of Grayskull: Smith, executive producer and Mattel Television vice president, content creative, Rob David, and actress Tiffany Smith.
The 25-minute special will include appearances from Mark Hamill, Chris Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lena Headey, Tiffany Smith, Henry Rollins, Griffin Newman, Jason Mewes, and Alan Oppenheimer.
