Lucasfilm sure has their hands full! With Indiana Jones 5 in the works in addition to the countless Star Wars IPs in development, newly minted Lucasfilm Games has joined the creative fray with a freshly announced Indiana Jones game. The game is being produced by Bethesda’s MachineGames studio. The franchise’s last action-adventure title for modern consoles, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb, was released in 2003 by LucasArts and served as a prequel to the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom film. 18 years is quite the hiatus.

Earlier today, Bethesda posted on Twitter: “A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames.”
While the game is still untitled, without any hint of a plot, there are already whispers that the game will be Xbox exclusive, as Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft in 2020. As fans of Emperor’s Tomb from way back on the original Xbox, we can’t wait!
